This listing is for an affiliate and Adsense business created in October 2014 in the lifestyle niche. The Wordpress site features information on ways to live a certain lifestyle and is monetized via AdSense advertising and affiliate commissions provided by sending people to online survey sites. This growing business has consistent income and requires minimal work from the Seller.
The site has three income streams. The first and largest stream is affiliate income from online survey sites. These sites will pay a fee for each new account opened by someone who clicked a link on the site. The second is through direct advertising done with AdSense. The third is paid or sponsored articles. The Seller regularly receives requests to put up paid articles with a link. The Seller rarely agrees to this for lack of time, and this is an opportunity for the Buyer to explore.
The Seller spends less than an hour each week on the site. They just check visitor communications from time to time. At the end of the month, the Seller checks the earnings of different affiliates and prepare and send an invoice to the one affiliate that requires it. From time to time, the Seller changes or edits some of the affiliate links in some articles based on performance or requests from the affiliates. Towards the end of the year, the Seller review the articles and make any changes to keep them up to date.
The majority of traffic is from organic search. There is an email list of 5K+ subscribers, the majority Australian. The list is growing at an average of 50 sign-ups per week. The Seller has not sent any emails to the list for some time and it is not being monetized in any way. This is an opportunity for the Buyer to expand.
*There was a drop in traffic in March/April 2017 that the Seller believes was some sort of negative SEO attack, as they received several links of dubious quality in a hurry. The Seller disavowed these links and nothing like this has happened since.
There are many potential avenues for growth that the Seller can see for this business. With the main income stream - survey site affiliate commissions - it’s possible to negotiate improved fees per signup. The Seller is constantly getting told by affiliates that that the site generates excellent traffic for them. The Seller has twice asked for better commissions and both times the sites said yes straight away. It's been on the Seller's list for a long time to do this with the other companies.
The Seller has only used affiliates that have approached them directly. Looking for other sites that want to be affiliates is another potential path for growth. There are many opportunities that offer the potential to make affiliate commissions. For example, the Seller has been approached to get commissions from linking to companies or their products on blog posts.
Another area for growth that the Seller has considered is products, such as how-to-guides, ebooks, and courses covering other money from home opportunities. The Seller feels that the site has a degree of credibility and that people who come to the site would be prepared to buy.
