Selling your site can be a bit nerve-wracking no matter how experienced you may be.

What if you’re wasting your time and the site doesn’t sell at all?

What documents do you need to prepare to interest buyers?

What if you’re leaving money on the table?

Even if you end up with an offer, there are more obstacles before the deal is closed.

Buyers must perform due diligence and you end up wasting time with tire-kickers. They act interested but were never really going to buy the site.

Don’t forget about the work that needs to be done after the sale is agreed upon.

You have to walk the buyer through taking over the domain, transfer hosting, make sure all the content is working, and switch all the monetization on the site.

We feel your pain—that was us four years ago

After selling hundreds of sites, we began to feel the frustrations and inconveniences of the selling process. Dealing with non-serious “buyers” and the transfer process was a serious waste of our time and resources.

So we set out to create a marketplace that had less irritation and more profit for sellers.

Take the Friction Out of Selling Your Site

You make more money with us than if you sell the site on your own. We typically list a website by taking the average of the last three (3) months’ net profit and then multiplying that figure by a multiple ranging from 20-30+, depending on a number of factors.

[3-12 Months’ Average Net Profit] x (20 to 30) = Listing Price

You instantly get in front of our email list with 20K+ customers that we send weekly emails to where we list new sites. Worried about not being able to close a deal? Every time we send out an email we get more interested depositors and hundreds of visitors flood the marketplace. Most listings get multiple depositors and interested buyers.

Our sales success rate is over 95%. We’ve sold close to a thousand websites since starting our marketplace in early 2013 and we rarely cannot close the deal.

You have the advantage of our knowing the buyers. By already having a connection to interested parties, we can easily help document the information needed to prepare for a sale and tailor recommendations to buyers we know are looking for a particular type of site.

You avoid the heavy lifting thanks to our white glove service. We hold your hand through the process, step-by-step, and weed out non-serious buyers. We even transfer the website to the buyer so you don’t have to.

You never hear from the tire-kickers and scammers. We handle all communications between you and the buyer so you have more time to focus on running and growing your business. In fact, buyers pay a 5% deposit before they get info on your site, meaning inquiries we forward to you are coming from people who have put money down.

You get the benefit of a broker that can negotiate and “massage” a deal. We’ll provide you with new ideas and deal structures that may be unfamiliar to you so the deal doesn’t fall through because of an issue with numbers.

You can relax while we handle transferring the website over to the buyer for you. We’re a Done-For-You Service. We’ve migrated nearly a thousand different websites. You don’t need to buy software. You don’t need to contact your webhost. We do it all on your behalf.

You don’t have to worry about people stealing your website idea. We hide the URL of your site and never reveal information to potential buyers who have not paid the 5% deposit. This actually benefits both the buyer and you. The problem with public sales is that dozens of copycats pop up to try to cash in on the niche and website structure. By hiding the URL, no one to worry about an influx of new competition.

There is a catch though. Isn’t there always? First-time listers pay a $297 listing fee and repeat sellers pay $97. The fee is 100% refundable if we reject your website or can’t list your site for any reason, but having the fee allows us to focus on the serious sellers and take proper care during vetting.

Here’s why you’ll want to pay our fees. We take 15% after a successful sale, which is admittedly higher than some other options. You’ll want to pay it because you’ll still make more with us than if you had sold the website yourself. Our fees cover themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is my website worth? / How much will my website sell for?

Websites are sold on a multiple of net monthly profit. We typically take an average of the net profit over the last three (3) months and multiply by 20 to determine the price.

In some instances where the site is seasonal or has been earning for several years, we’ll take an average of the last 12 months of net monthly profit. In cases where the business has assets, we’ll add the wholesale or discounted value of the assets on top of the 20x multiplier.

To get an estimate of how much your website is worth, use our Empire Valuation Tool.

What happens if my site doesn't sell?

If your website doesn’t sell within 90 days on our marketplace, you have the option to move your website onto another buying/selling platform at no further risk to you. We will take care of the listing’s writeup for you and we’ll manage the auction on your behalf.

How long will it take to sell my website?

This varies and will depend on several factors including what platform the site is built on, how much work is required, how transferable the monetization strategy is, how much documentation has been done of the processes, and other considerations.

While lower priced sites tend to go quickly, we’ve sold $40K+ sites in less than a week and sites valued at less than $10K in a few weeks. We generally suggest at least 90 days to list and sell your site, but can give you a better estimate after reviewing/vetting it.

Do websites ever sell for less than the listing price?

Buyers can make offers on your website, whether it’s the full listing price or a slightly discounted offer. We’ll take the offers to you and you have the option to accept or make a counteroffer.

There may be times when you and the buyer will want to meet in the middle and create a financing plan. For example, 85% of the listing price upfront and 10% over four months.

What do you need from me to list my website?

Our sellers find our process straightforward, but thorough. Our goal is to provide a quality listing for discerning buyers who are looking to avoid digging through a subpar directory to find something worthwhile.

Here's a glimpse of what we're looking for:

  • Seller's personal info including name, email, Skype, social media profiles, etc.
  • Site details such as URL, date purchased/created, site history, backlinking efforts, etc.
  • Screenshots of 30/60/90 day revenue details (gross monthly revenue, net monthly profit).
  • Verified 30/60/90 day expenses (Cost of goods sold, VA's, content, advertising, hosting, etc.).
  • Google Analytics data/access (Clicky is an acceptable alternative).
