So, without further ado, let’s get into this interview.

First up, let’s learn a little bit about you. Can you tell us about your background in building and running online businesses?

I built this business from scratch in March 2024 on Amazon KDP. After testing different niches, I found that we were best at age-specific gift books for parents. I handle the research, book creation, Canva publishing, and Amazon ads myself, and grew the catalog to 75 titles, earning around $16,000 per month in royalties in 2026. I also have an offline business.

Why are you selling the business now instead of keeping it and growing it further?

I’m selling to focus my time and capital on a new venture in a different business model: physical products, which need my full attention to launch. The business itself is healthy and growing, with no problems with the account, books, or sales. I believe a new owner with more time can take it much further by expanding the proven series, adding hardcover editions, and scaling ads. I’ll fully support them during the handover.

Can you describe the amount and the type of work that you do on this business to maintain it?

Maintaining the business takes about three to five hours per week. Amazon ads take maybe two hours. Just checking and monitoring takes about one hour, as does reviewing sales and searching for new niches.

So, if you were to keep this business, what are some of the ways you would try to grow it?

I think I’d extend the best-selling series by adding more age-specific books for girls and boys. I’d also add hardcover editions and scale ads. This is important. I’d release seasonal versions for Christmas, Easter, and back to school, and maybe upgrade the storybooks to fully edited editions to win more five-star reviews. Maybe my list, also.

And what would you say are the biggest risks with this business that buyers should be aware of?

I think ad costs. Rising competition can increase ad costs, so campaigns need regular monitoring to stay profitable. But now, most sales are organic. Okay, maybe revenue concentration: the top book accounts for about 18% of the revenue. But you have to scale.

How much support are you willing to offer the buyer who acquires this business?

I’m offering 60 days of support after the sale, including email and chat support. I can respond to the buyer within 24 hours on weekdays, and maybe offer four video calls.

Are you open to negotiating something like an earn-out agreement?

Yes, I’m open to an earn-out structure for the right offer. I’d prefer most of the price upfront—at least 70 to 80%—with the remainder paid over a period of up to 12 months, ideally as fixed payments or tied to revenue rather than profit. I’m happy to discuss that deal with the buyer.

Okay, final question. If you had to put yourself in the shoes of a buyer, why is your business worth buying?

It has strong, fast growth: it grew from about $6,000 in October 2025 to $16,000 to $20,000 per month in mid-2026, with Q4—the strongest season—still ahead. It has a proven, repeatable formula: age-specific gift books that parents search for by exact age. I can keep adding new ages and themes with predictable demand.

It’s simple to run. Print on demand means no inventory, shipping, or customer service. It takes just a few hours per week to manage a diversified catalog, with 75 live titles selling across many Amazon marketplaces and sales that continue even without ads.

There’s clear room to grow. Hardcover editions, international ads, seasonal versions, and new ads are all untapped. There’s full support, including 60 days of help, reading guides, and all source files to make the handover smooth.
