Opportunities
  • Finding new local suppliers or import to UK, Canada, Australia (using local FBA) and target the Adwords campaign and product style to these countries. This Adwords campaign can run in many other large countries (not in some EU countries though) with minimal modification if they are English-speaking. This would require knowledge of the legal landscape for retailing cosmetics in these countries and re-working the labels, however.
  • The Adwords campaign could be modified to work very well on Facebook. Start with creating a Facebook page and engagement campaign to build brand trust and motivate organic discussion on products and their uses.
  • With more effort, the concept in the Adwords campaign could be modified for Youtube advertising using a video version of the Adwords concept. This would potentially convert highly with this campaign concept, as many people prefer visual to written instructions, but would require a large investment.
  • The supplier can create a serum or cream featuring any active ingredient in the skin care category, usually within 6 weeks. By working with the supplier to create further single-ingredient products based around trending ingredients (that aren’t too popular on Amazon) you can establish yourself a niche in the DIY skin care scene, which is growing in popularity, by offering easy-to-use boosters rather than the powders most DIY companies supply.
  • Move away from Amazon to Shopify. Since currently about 60% of sales are from the Adwords landing page it would be easy to start directing traffic to the store rather than Amazon. However, conversions are bound to be much lower at first due to the kind of advertising campaign in use.
  • More reviews on Amazon and making use of their in-house advertising system. Currently, the products don’t perform that well in Amazon ads due to the lack of reviews, but with a Facebook campaign building up brand trust and communication it would be possible to encourage more reviews. The Seller has put no effort into generating reviews, so there are very few on any product which does impact their performance when selling directly to an Amazon audience.

Seller Support Includes

The Seller is currently collating process guides, email response templates/FAQ, and ideas for growing the business in the future, to ensure a smooth transition. In tandem with the assistant, the Seller will offer 30 days email or skype support. The Seller's assistant will offer the Buyer 3 months of full support for the current business processes (answering emails, ordering inventory, maintaining Adwords, dealing with Amazon issues that arise) at no cost. The Seller will also supply a comprehensive list of business processes if the buyer would prefer to handle it themselves from the beginning. During the three months, the assistant can work closely with the Buyer so they will see first-hand the work required and best-practices. At the end of the three months the Buyer can keep the assistant working on this for $100 a month. Note: the assistant can’t help with any new initiatives due to time constraints, but they can answer buyer inquiries, manage inventory, manage the current Adwords campaign and deal with Amazon support in the USA.
