We are looking to bring on one or two Migration Specialists to join our Operations Department starting April 5, 2021. This is a Philippines-based full time position.  Compensation for this position is PHP 19,215.00 per month (equivalent to USD $400 per month) depending on experience.

So what is a Migration Specialist?

As a Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for the technical side of website migrations. Your role will include moving websites from one host to another, changing out affiliate codes, and general website troubleshooting.

Our team uses various methods for transferring online businesses over from the seller to the buyer and understands the integral parts of each business.

The person in this role will deal with problems that arise on the fly and guide our buyers and sellers through the migration process, finding solutions to their unique problems and ensuring customers leave happy with our process.

Empire Flippers is the world’s largest marketplace for online businesses. We help our clients to buy and sell online businesses, such as content websites and eCommerce stores.

What Are the Essential Functions?

  1. Manually moving websites from one host to another. 
  2. Changing out affiliate links on a website. 
  3. Working with Ad Network providers such as Google AdSense/AdThrive/Mediavine/Ezoic to transfer ownership.
  4. Troubleshooting with our clients if a website goes down or any issues arise from the transfer. 
  5. Ensuring that websites have minimal downtime while a hosting transfer is taking place. 
  6. Assist buyers and sellers who are new and may require support through the entire process.
  7. Handle other duties as assigned.

What Are the Expected Work Hours

This is a full-time position. You will be required to work at least 5 days per week on your set shift times listed below. Our clients are mainly based in the US and you will be expected to overlap onto US time zones. 

Shift #1: 3PM – 11PM (Manila Time) – Monday through till Friday

Shift #2: 8PM – 4AM (Manila Time) – Tuesday through till Saturday

What Are The Required Skills?

  • Deep knowledge and experience with using WordPress;
  • You must have transferred websites manually in the past;
  • Some experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript; 
  • Any experience with affiliate programs such as Amazon Associates is a huge bonus;
  • You can attend company meetings that take place via Zoom;
  • You are process oriented and can follow instructions down to a tee;
  • You are hungry to learn and willing to accept feedback;
  • You must be highly motivated, goal-driven and coachable

Details to Keep in Mind

When you first come on board, you’re going to learn about our company. We will do a deep dive into how our processes and systems work and set you up in the backend, and teach you about each department within the business.

We’ll start you off with low-level tasks. As you get better acquainted with our business, we will gradually build up your workload, get you comfortable with routine migrations, and then start having you take on more ambitious projects.

Empire Flippers has no side project policy. If you accept this role, you must be willing to work solely for Empire Flippers. This disqualification includes freelancing and other part-time positions. 

Our Operations team will review every application that comes our way. For those we think would be a good fit, we will schedule an interview. Typically, we do two rounds of interviews before we decide.

How Do I Apply?

Here is the sequence of events we use when hiring our new Migration Specialist:

  • We review submissions and schedule first interviews.
  • We then conduct second interviews and a final decision is made.
  • The chosen candidate will be announced in mid-March.
  • The chosen candidate will start working with our company on April 5, 2021 (via remote training and onboarding).
